A 31-year-old Sacramento man was convicted by a federal jury on three counts of being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition on Wednesday, according to officials.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case against Dezmaighne McClain, who was on felony parole when he sold a firearm to another person whom he met at the parole office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The office said McClain sold the same person another firearm 15 days after the original sell date and continued to discuss more potential gun sales with that person.

They said that evidence at trial showed that McClain also sold firearms to others while on parole.

His prior felony convictions including robbery, assault and illegal possession of a firearm prohibit McClain from possessing firearms and ammunition, prosecutors said.

Officials said that agents found an assault rifle-style “ghost” gun hidden in the garage among other firearms and ammunition during a search of McClain’s residence.

McClain faces a maximum statutory sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count at his sentencing hearing on July 11, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
