Stretch of 65th Street near Fruitridge Road reopens after shooting investigation in Sacramento

A stretch of 65th Street has reopened in Sacramento’s Fruitridge Manor neighborhood Thursday morning after police investigated a shooting that injured one person and struck multiple vehicles.

Officers were investigating a non-life-threatening shooting that occurred overnight in the area of 65th Street and Jansen Drive, the Sacramento Police Department said in a tweet just before 6 a.m.

One person was injured and three occupied vehicles were also struck by gunfire, police spokesman Officer Chad Lewis said.

Northbound lanes of 65th Street were closed for several hours before reopening before 10 a.m., police said.

No other details were immediately available.
