Woman found dead inside Roseville-area home; Placer deputies investigating homicide
Detectives are investigating a homicide after a 41-year-old woman was found dead early Wednesday morning inside a home near Roseville, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies responded to a 911 call just after midnight from a home on the 500 block of Livoti Avenue, just outside Roseville city limits, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in social media posts.
Arriving deputies entered the residence and located a deceased victim, who was identified Thursday by the Sheriff’s Office as Erica Marie Wright.
“The incident is actively being investigated and detectives have determined this to be a homicide,” sheriff’s officials wrote in a Facebook post. “The suspect has not yet been located.”
Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Nelson Resendes said the victim’s cause of death won’t be released until an autopsy is completed.
He said deputies remained at the scene investigating late Wednesday morning, nearly 12 hours after the initial response.
“It’s still a very active investigation,” Resendes said.
The Sheriff’s Office in a subsequent post said detectives are canvassing the neighborhood in search of surveillance video that may assist in the homicide investigation. Sheriff’s officials asked anyone with information about the incident to call 530-889-7853.
