Butte County deputies bust two marijuana farms
Butte County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday arrested three people at two separate marijuana-growing operations.
The Butte County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit found the pot-growing operations near Old Forbestown Road and Squaw Flat Road in Forbestown.
At the first site, deputies arrested Donald Yang, 65, and Alice Yang, 62, both of Lindsay. A total of 185 growing marijuana plants were confiscated. Deputies also found two .22-caliber rifles and $13,000 in cash.
Deputies at the second site arrested David Xiong, 24, of South Carolina. A total of 132 marijuana plants were confiscated, along with two handguns.
All three were arrested on suspicion of marijuana cultivation, possession of marijuana for sale and being armed in the commission of a felony.
