A pedestrian hit by a vehicle in the Southside Park neighborhood of Sacramento earlier this month has died from his injuries.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s office has identified the man as Chew Kin Yee, 85, of Sacramento.
Sacramento police said that Yee was struck by the vehicle when crossing 10th Street at U Street on Sept. 12 at about 7:30 a.m. He suffered major head injuries in the collision and died five days later.
The collision is still under investigation. At the conclusion of the police department’s investigation, the case will be submitted to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s office for review.

Alcohol was determined not to be a factor in the crash, police said. No additional information was available.
