Shooting in Carmichael leaves one man dead, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office says

A man is dead after a shooting late Friday in Carmichael, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

At 9:31 p.m., deputies received a call about a shooting in the 2400 block of Camino Park Court. The caller reported that a man had been shot inside a vehicle.

Deputies found the man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Fire personnel arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene.

“Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “No further information or suspect information is available at this time.”

The man’s name will be released by the Coroner’s Office after next of kin have been notified.
