Police investigating targeted Sunday night shooting that wounded 1 on Elk Grove Florin Road

The Elk Grove Police Department is investigating a targeted shooting that left one person injured Sunday night.

The shooting occurred in the 9300 block of Elk Grove Florin Road about 9 p.m., according to the department. One person was transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

“This is an active and ongoing investigation, as we have been working through the night,” spokesman Sgt. Jason Jimenez said in a social media post Monday. “According to our detectives, this was an isolated incident and was not random.

“We will continue to share information when we get it and are able to.”
