Rocklin police arrest man suspected of downloading child porn photos and videos

Detectives on Tuesday arrested a 62-year-old Rocklin man suspected of downloading child pornography from the internet, police said.

The investigation began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that was sent to the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force, a regional group of investigators assigned to investigate crimes against children.

The cyber tip indicated a suspect in Rocklin was downloading child sexual abuse material, the Rocklin Police Department announced Tuesday in a news release.

Rocklin police detectives obtained a search warrant for Randal Hensel at his home on Wedgewood Way. While serving the search warrant, detectives seized Hensel’s electronic devices, police said

The police detectives and the task force investigators analyzed the seized devices and found child porn images and videos. The detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Hensel.

Detectives arrested Hensel at his home on suspicion of possessing obscene materials with victims younger than 12 years old, according to the Police Department. He was booked at the Placer County Jail, where he was being held Tuesday with his bail amount set at $50,000.

The detectives believe the child porn found in this investigation was downloaded from various websites and was not produced in Rocklin, police said.
