Gunshot fatality

Police are investigating a shooting Sunday evening that left one man dead and another wounded in North Sacramento’s Richardson Village neighborhood.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. to reports of shots fired near the 500 block of Arcade Boulevard, Sacramento Police Department spokesman Officer Ryan Woo said.

Two male victims arrived at a hospital around the same time, each with at least one gunshot wound, Woo said. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital.

No suspect information was available, Woo said.

Homicide detectives were investigating Monday morning, the Sacramento Police Department said in a social media post just before 7 a.m. People were asked to avoid the scene, which is near Martin Luther King Jr. Tech Academy.

The deceased victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office pending notification of family.
