Auburn man, 65, arrested on suspicion of molesting, exposing self to two children
A man suspected of exposing himself to two young children and inappropriately touching at least one of them was arrested this week in Auburn on suspicion of child molestation, police said.
Authorities were notified Sunday of “an extremely concerning incident involving an adult male and two children,” the Auburn Police Department said in a news release.
Investigators determined Keith Richard Jones, 65, invited two children, ages 7 and 9, into his home on Marvin Way in Auburn, police said.
“Jones reportedly exposed himself, showed the children sexually explicit images, and inappropriately touched one of the children,” the news release said. “The children fled the residence and reported the occurrences to their parents.”
The Police Department obtained a search warrant and Tuesday arrested Jones at his home, according to the news release.
Jones was arrested and booked into the Placer County Main Jail in Auburn on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child, sending harmful material to a minor and arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, according to the news release.
He has since been released from jail on $150,000 bail, according to the Police Department and Placer County jail booking records.
The Police Department asked anyone with information relevant to the case or any other potential incidents involving Jones to contact the department at 530-823-4234.
