Man injured in early-morning shooting on Stockton Boulevard, Sacramento police say

A man was hospitalized early Friday morning after a shooting on Stockton Boulevard near Sacramento’s Fruitridge Manor neighborhood, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting near Stockton Boulevard and Young Street, the Sacramento Police Department said in a tweet just after 6 a.m.

A man was located near the 5700 block of Stockton Boulevard with at least one gunshot wound, Police Department spokesman Officer Chad Lewis said.

The man was taken to a hospital with “serious” injuries, Lewis said. No suspect information was available.

The shooting investigation closed northbound and southbound traffic on Stockton Boulevard early Friday morning between Young Street and Jansen Drive.

Both directions were back open before 7 a.m., police said in an update.
