Placer County detectives arrest Stockton woman in connection with March homicide

Placer County detectives have arrested a Stockton woman in connection with a homicide in March, authorities announced Wednesday.

The suspect, Sopheap Om, 44, was arrested June 15 for on suspicion of the March 20 killing of Fred Cornacchioli, 53, of Sacramento, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Authorities received a call for service just before 6 p.m., according to the release. When a Placer County deputy arrived in the area of Palladay Road and Dyer Lane near the county line with Sacramento, they discovered Cornacchioli lying in the street bleeding.

Cornacchioli was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, deputies said.
