Man shot twice after argument in North Highlands apartment complex, deputies say
A man was shot in a North Highlands apartment complex Thursday morning, deputies say.
At around 7:20 a.m., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office and Sacramento Metro Fire Department responded to the 4500 block of Ashcroft Avenue on reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from two gunshot wounds. The suspect had fled the scene.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Rodney Grassmann, the shooting occurred after a “verbal disagreement” between the victim, who lived at the apartment complex, and an adult male. The relationship between the suspect and the victim is not yet clear.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Although the suspect remains at large, Grassmann said that deputies know who he is and are in pursuit.
