Sacramento man sentenced to 130 years after sexually assaulting multiple children

A Sacramento man was sentenced to 130 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to numerous counts of child sexual assault, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday.

According to a news release from the District Attorney’s Office, Alvaro Rodas, 50, sexually assaulted multiple children for over 10 years beginning in 2006.

In 2017, two of Rodas’s victims reported him to the police, prompting Sacramento officers to search Rodas’s home. There, they found child pornography and videos of some of the sexual assaults.

Rodas pleaded guilty in June 2021 to four counts of lewd acts on a child under 14, two counts of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14, four counts of sex acts with a child under 10 years old and one count of child endangerment. He was sentenced on June 17, nearly a year later.
