Three people wounded in Galt shooting near high school on Fourth of July night

Three people were injured in a shooting Monday night in Galt, according to the Galt Police Department.

The police received reports of three people shot in the 600 block of Myrtle Avenue at 10:58 p.m., according to a news release posted to the department’s social media. The location is close to Galt High School.

Police officers provided medical treatment to the three victims until the Cosumnes Fire Department arrived on the scene, according to the release. All three were transported to local area hospitals with gunshot injuries that were not life-threatening.

“There is no public threat to the community and it appears to be an isolated incident,” the release read.

The police department has not released suspect information.
