A Sacramento man faces 15 years to life sentence in prison after a federal jury found him guilty of sex trafficking.

The jury found that Antonio Deshawn Marion Long Andrews, 28, used force, threats of force and coercion to compel a woman to perform commercial sex acts for his financial benefit, the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento announced Tuesday.

According to prosecutors, Long Andrews trafficked the victim from August 2017 to December 2018, operating a commercial sex operation on the streets and in motel rooms in multiple California cities such as Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, Santa Ana and Orange.

On Sept. 28, 2018, Long Andrews repeatedly attacked the then 20-year-old victim inside his car in the parking lot of a motel, according to the release. Eyewitness reports and footage from the motel’s security camera show Long Andrews repeatedly punching the victim while another person kept her inside the car. The woman was eventually pulled out of the car and dragged beneath the vehicle.

According to the release, Long Andrews forced the victim to engage in commercial sex acts a week later, despite the fact that she was injured and had two black eyes.

Long Andrews was arrested Sept. 30, 2018, for violating his parole, but continued to manage the woman’s activity while in custody for nearly two months.

Long Andrews was recorded, according to transcripts of the recorded jailhouse calls, telling the woman she was expected to continue earning money for him through sex work. When he was released from jail Nov. 25, 2018, Long’s exploitation of the victim continued for several days until his arrest on Dec. 5, 2018.

Long Andrews is scheduled to be sentenced Oct. 18.
