Sacramento police arrest man after shooting and attempted robbery in Land Park

A man is in custody after a shooting and attempted robbery rocked a Broadway street corner in Land Park Tuesday night.

The Sacramento Police Department responded to Broadway and Riverside Boulevard around 7 p.m. Tuesday on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found that an adult male victim had been shot during an attempted robbery, and the suspect had fled the scene.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After a brief investigation by the police department’s South Gang Enforcement Team, officers arrested Develle Thomas, 29, in a motel room early Wednesday morning. Officers also discovered a loaded handgun and drugs in the room, the police department said in a social media post.

Thomas is being charged with assault with a firearm, attempted robbery and weapons violations.
