Marysville man arrested after providing meth to minor in exchange for sexual favors
A Marysville man was arrested after providing methamphetamine to a minor in exchange for sexual favors, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office said in a Monday news release.
At around 7:48 p.m on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol requested the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office’s presence at the Quick Stop Gas Station on Bogue Road in Yuba City. CHP described a “suspicious” encounter between an older man and a girl under 14 years of age, reporting that the girl refused to provide information to officers.
When SCSO deputies arrived on scene, they recognized the girl from prior police contacts and identified the man as Marysville resident David Hill, 64. According to the release, SCSO had prior knowledge that the girl was not a relative of Hill’s.
The girl told an SCSO deputy that Hill had been providing her methamphetamine in exchange for sexual favors over a two-day period. On Sunday, the girl disclosed, she provided Hill with sex in exchange for methamphetamine, which she smoked inside his vehicle.
SCSO made contact with the girl’s parents, and arrested Hill on charges including having sex with a minor 14 years of age or younger, providing a minor with narcotics and unlawful sex with a minor.
Hill was booked into the Sutter County Jail on a $500,000 bail. He will appear in court on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
According to the release, the case remains under investigation.
