Arson suspected as crews fight vegetation fire off Antelope Road in Sacramento County

Metro Fire crews battling a 15-acre grass fire near Antelope Road in Sacramento County early Thursday afternoon suspect the blaze was intentionally set.

Arson investigators headed to the area of North Antelope and Antelope roads, where Metro Fire officials in a social media post just before 2 p.m. said crews are reporting “multiple fire starts.” No injuries have been reported. and the fire was not considered a threat to nearby buildings.

Photos taken from above the fire scene showed flames blackening dry vegetation along North Antelope and Antelope roads and throwing plumes of smoke into the air across the road from clusters of industrial and other buildings.
