Update from police: At-risk 12-year-old girl likely with family outside of Sacramento

Missing person

An at-risk 12-year-old girl last seen in her south Sacramento neighborhood earlier this month is likely staying with family members outside of the area, police said in an update Aug. 23.

Police put out the call the girl was missing on Aug. 11, saying that the girl may be in the Elk Grove area. She was last seen on Thatcher Circle, west of Center Parkway, in south Sacramento.

In an update Tuesday, Sacramento police said that officers conducted a “thorough investigation” and that the 12-year-old was believed to be “voluntarily staying with family members out of the area,” they said.

“There is no evidence of criminal activity at this time,” police added.

Anyone with information is urged to call Sacramento Police Department at 916-808-5471.
