Police seek witnesses after man dies in late Saturday night shooting in North Sacramento

A man died after being shot Saturday night in North Sacramento, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting just before 10:50 p.m. at Harris Avenue and Fig Street, according to the Sacramento Police Department. They located one victim, identified in a news release as a male adult with at least one gunshot wound.

The man died at the scene, Sacramento Fire personnel reported. His name will be released by the coroner after next of kin have been notified.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are examining the incident and canvassing the area for further evidence and possible witnesses.

There is no suspect information at this time.
