CHP Sacramento looks for vehicle that struck pedestrian in Arden Arcade fatal hit-and-run
The California Highway Patrol on Tuesday released a traffic camera image of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian in a deadly hit-and-run earlier this month in Arden Arcade.
The hit-and-run occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 15 on Marconi Avenue at Avalon Drive, according to the CHP North Sacramento Area Office. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was captured on a traffic camera as it left the area.
The man struck by the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office had not yet released his name. Coroner officials will release his name after his family has been notified.
CHP investigators reviewed the traffic camera video and believe the suspect vehicle was a Lexus RX 350 or Lexus RX 450, between the years 2012 and 2015. The vehicle has a light-color paint job, possibly white, the CHP said.
Investigators asked anyone with information about the whereabouts of the suspect vehicle or its driver to call the CHP North Sacramento Area Office at 916-348-2300 during business hours or at 916-798-0975 after hours.
