Sexual assault of 3 children leads to 50-year prison sentence for Sacramento County man

A Sacramento County judge last week sentenced a 44-year-old man to 50 years in prison for sexually assaulting three children over seven years.

Victor Manuel Guillen, who pleaded guilty last month, was given the maximum sentence for sexually abusing the children, the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office announced Monday in a news release.

Guillen on Aug. 3 was convicted of five counts of child sexual assault charges. Prosecutors said his guilty plea also included enhancements for a crime the involved great violence, great bodily harm and threat of great bodily harm.

The District Attorney’s Office said the victims were particularly vulnerable, and the manner in which the crime was carried out indicated planning. Prosecutors said Guillen took advantage of a position of trust or confidence to commit the crimes.

Guillen sexually assaulted three children from 2012 through 2019, and the abuse began to occur when the children were 5, 7 and 10 years old. The District Attorney’s Office did not release any further information about the criminal case.
