Rocklin police arrest youth athletic coach suspected of ‘inappropriate contact’ with minors

Rocklin police have arrested a youth athletic coach suspected of having inappropriate contact with minors.

Eric James Hawkins, 47, of Antelope was arrested Thursday and booked into Placer County Jail in Roseville on suspicion of annoying or molesting a minor under the age of 18, according to a Rocklin police statement.

Rocklin police in the statement say they began investigating after they were told of “inappropriate communications” between Hawkins and a Rocklin minor. Police say during their investigation, they found that a second minor had also been contacted.

Hawkins coaches and works with several youth programs in Placer and Sacramento counties, say police.
