An Elk Grove man arrested Sunday after shooting another man during an argument last week is being held on felony assault charges.

Elk Grove police arrested Sundeep Singh, 25, at his home Sunday, days after the Sept. 21 shooting in the 5200 block of Lake Pleasant Drive. Officers called to the scene that Wednesday found blood in the street but no victim.

Neighbors said two men were arguing in the street before the gunshots. The suspected gunman later identified by police as Singh drove away. The wounded man drove to a hospital where police said he was treated for a gunshot to the leg.

Detectives would later find evidence during a search of Singh’s home that police said tied him to the shooting but could not find Singh. Officers ultimately tracked down Singh at his home late Sunday where Singh eventually surrendered.

Singh faces felony charges including assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon by a felon. He is being held at Sacramento County Main Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail, jail records show. Singh is scheduled to face a judge Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento Superior Court.
