A Sacramento-area man who molested his child victims for years before his arrest was sentenced to 42 years in prison Monday in Sacramento Superior Court.

Carlos Eduardo Lozano pleaded to four counts of committing forcible lewd acts upon a child and a single count of a lewd act upon a child Monday before Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael Sweet, Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office officials announced.

Lozano sexually assaulted two girls, Sacramento County prosecutors said. Lozano’s abuse of his first victim began when the girl was five years old and continued until the girl was 12. The second girl was younger than 10 years old when Lozano abused her, prosecutors said.

Lozano, 36, was arrested in September 2021 for his crimes. He remains held in Sacramento County custody at Rio Cosumnes Correctional Center near Elk Grove awaiting transfer to state prison.
