Woman on way to East Sacramento store mugged for her cellphone
A woman walking to a store Tuesday night in East Sacramento was mugged for her cellphone.
The woman was near 42nd and M streets on her way to the Trader Joe’s store on Folsom Boulevard about 8:15 p.m. Tuesday when a car pulled up and two men got out. The men demanded her possessions and, when she refused to comply, they hit her with what appeared to be a handgun.
The men then fled in a dark-colored, two-door sedan southbound on 42nd Street toward Folsom Boulevard after taking the woman’s phone. The woman was treated at the scene for complaint of pain.
Her cellphone was later recovered by officers.
