Man on pavement hit and killed on Power Inn Road in Sacramento County

A man either crawling or lying in the roadway was run over by a car and killed early Wednesday in southern Sacramento County.

The California Highway Patrol said that a motorist traveling about 35 mph southbound on Power Inn Road near 68th Avenue about 12:30 a.m. saw the man down on the roadway and slammed on her brakes.

She was not able to avoid striking the man with her car. The unidentified man, who suffered head injuries, died at the scene.
