Man arrested in window-breaking vandalism at Auburn hotel
A Montana man is suspected in walking away from a wreck, then wreaking a bit of havoc at an Auburn hotel.
Auburn police were called to a single-vehicle crash near Interstate 80 and Elm Avenue early Tuesday. The driver had left.
Officers were then sent to a nearby Holiday Inn, where a man was breaking windows. Auburn officers and a Placer County Sheriff’s deputy found Eric Daniel Bull, 43, of Helena, Mont., in the parking lot.
It is suspected that Bull broke the windows using what was described as a large firefighting tool. When he refused to drop the tool, a Taser was used to take him into custody.
It was later determined that Bull was the driver involved in the earlier crash.
He was booked at Placer County jail on suspicion of felony vandalism and resisting arrest.
