Mobile home in North Highlands leveled by fire
A mobile home was destroyed in an early morning fire in North Highlands.
Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District crews were called to the blaze in a mobile home park off Jackson Street shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze in the mobile home and prevent the fire spread.
Firefighters were successful in preventing the spread of the fire to two nearby mobile homes. However, the mobile home where the blaze broke out was a complete loss.
The cause of the fire is believed to be food left cooking on the stove overnight. Two adults in the mobile home were able to get out on their own after a smoke detector sounded.
