A Sacramento County man was arrested last week on suspicion of practicing medicine without a license and sexual assault, sheriff’s officials said.

Pavel Rytikoff, 64, was arrested last Thursday following an investigation by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office’s sexual and elder abuse bureau, the Sheriff’s Office said in a Wednesday news release.

Rytikoff was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on two counts of penetration with a foreign object and one count of practicing medicine without a medical certificate, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Rytikoff posted bail and was released from the jail the same day, sheriff’s officials said. He is due in Sacramento Superior Court on Jan. 23.

The investigation, which remains active and ongoing, was prompted by an adult victim who had sought medical services from Rytikoff and who reported him to authorities, the Sheriff’s Office said.
