CHP shares suspect vehicle photo in deadly Sacramento County hit-and-run

The California Highway Patrol is seeking the driver in a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian last week in Sacramento County’s North Highlands area.

The pedestrian was hit around 5:15 p.m. last Friday on westbound Madison Avenue near Jackson Street, the CHP’s North Sacramento office said in a Wednesday evening social media post.

The suspect vehicle is a maroon four-door sedan of unknown make and model, which fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, according to the CHP.

The CHP posted a photo of the car, which the agency said has moderate damage to its front windshield, hood and bumper.

Anyone with knowledge of the vehicle’s whereabouts is asked to contact CHP North Sacramento at 916-348-2300.

The pedestrian’s identity as of Thursday morning had not been released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office, pending notification of family.
