66-year-old pedestrian found dead after hit-and-run on Interstate 80 in North Highlands
The body of a 66-year-old man was found Thursday morning along Interstate 80 in Sacramento County’s North Highlands area following a suspected hit-and-run, California Highway Patrol officials said.
A passerby reported the body to authorities shortly after 6:15 a.m. along eastbound I-80 near the Madison Avenue exit, CHP North Sacramento spokesman Officer Justin Fetterly said.
On Friday, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified him as Dennis Conner of Sacramento.
Conner appeared to have been hit by a vehicle, Fetterly said, and CHP officials are investigating the incident as a felony hit-and-run.
It is unknown when Conner may have been struck, Fetterly said, and no suspect vehicle description was available.
