Chiropractor accused of sexually assaulting teen on the job. Elk Grove police seek more victims
Police in Elk Grove arrested a chiropractor Thursday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teen he was supposed to be treating.
Jeffrey Labrado, 57, was arrested at his practice on East Stockton Boulevard on suspicion of sexual penetration with a foreign object by force or fear, sexual battery and indecent exposure, the Elk Grove Police Department said in a news release.
Labrado was identified by police as a suspect after receiving a report that he allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old at this office in April.
“At this time, it is unknown if there are additional victims,” the police department said. According to his website, Labrado has been practicing chiropractic care for 25 years. A call to his chiropractic office was not answered Friday at noon.
“Unlike most doctors, Dr. Labrado doesn’t just treat what you came in for, he takes his time to do a full investigation to find the root cause of your discomfort, and targets that through a thorough exam and X-rays,” his practice’s website states. “Many chiropractors will take shortcuts that might provide you with temporary relief, but will not do anything to help you heal long-term.”
As of Friday morning, Labrado’s license with the state Board of Chiropractic Examiners — first issued in 1994 — was active and “valid.”
According to the board, he held a license for a practice on West Main Street in Merced between 2004 and 2009 but it had been forfeited — the board says on its searchable database that license forfeitures are the result of not paying for the renewal or allowing the license to otherwise lapse.
For both licenses, Labrado had no public disciplinary records.
Anyone with information about this alleged crime or other potential victims is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department at 916-627-3732.
Labrado is being held in the Sacramento County Main Jail in lieu of $300,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned on felony and misdemeanor charges on July 17.
