Two teen boys arrested after police seize guns in south Sacramento search warrant
Two teens were arrested in south Sacramento last week on suspicion of illegally possessing firearms, authorities said.
Police began investigating after receiving a report of an assault with a firearm in the south Sacramento area on May 16, the Sacramento Police Department said in a social media post.
The department’s gang investigations unit began investigating and identified a 15-year-old boy as a suspect, according to the post.
Detectives served a residential search warrant related to the case last Thursday, on Middlecoff Way near Bing Maloney Golf Course, and found an “illegally possessed AR-15 rifle and two handguns,” police said.
The 15-year-old boy was arrested and booked into juvenile detention facility on related charges.
A 13-year-old boy was also arrested for firearms charges unrelated to the May 16 assault, Sacramento police said.
