West Sacramento man lands in jail, accused of pointing replica gun at bystanders

A man reportedly pointing a gun at people in a West Sacramento neighborhood was tased by officers, who later determined the weapon was fake.

West Sacramento police told of the Friday incident in a Saturday social media post.

Officers spotted the man near Westacre Road and Evergreen Avenue and attempted to check on him, officials said.

Police said they ordered the man to drop the weapon and fired the taser when he didn’t follow their command.

Officers recovered the replica handgun and booked the man into Yolo County custody.
