Rookie cop, 32, arrested after Northern California sheriff’s officials say he vandalized home
A recently hired Plumas County deputy was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony vandalism in Quincy, the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office said.
The off-duty 32-year-old deputy was taken into custody after Sheriff’s Office personnel responded to reports of a disturbance at a Quincy home.
After an investigation, deputies determined the felony vandalism occurred, though the Plumas County Sheriff’s Office in a news release did not describe the nature of the incident.
The deputy in custody is on leave from his position at the Sheriff’s Office and will be incarcerated in a correctional facility outside Plumas County, according to the post.
“It is paramount to reiterate that the (Plumas County Sheriff’s Office) remains unwavering in our commitment to upholding transparency and fostering public trust,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The Sheriff’s Office in no way condones any form of misconduct, as our organizational code mandates high standards of conduct amongst our personnel.”
