1 killed in Galleria parking lot in Roseville. Police say arrested suspect was known to victim

A woman was killed and her boyfriend was arrested following a shooting on the third floor of a parking garage at the Westfield Galleria mall in Roseville.

Roseville police spokesman Lt. Chris Ciampa said officers were called to the mall’s five-story garage at 10:38 a.m. for a shooting and found a woman wounded who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ciampa said officers identified 29-year-old Simranjit Singh as the shooter. Police said he dropped his firearm and ran from the scene. He was arrested a short time later at the Best Buy on the other side of Galleria Boulevard.

According to police, Singh and the victim were dating and had gone to the mall together before the shooting occurred.

The identity of the 34-year-old victim will be released by the Placer County Coroner’s Office.
