Three KFC employees shot during attempted robbery in Antelope, Sacramento deputies say

Police tape at crime scene

Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were investigating a shooting after three employees were hit by gunfire during a brazen attempted robbery Friday afternoon at a KFC fast food restaurant in Antelope, authorities said.

The shooting was reported shortly before 3:30 p.m. at the KFC along Watt Avenue, just north of Elverta Road. Three adult employees suffered gunshot wounds that were considered to be non-life-threatening, said Sgt. Amar Gandhi, a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

The restaurant is located in a shopping center. One suspect entered the KFC, possibly with two others. Gandhi said the suspect demanded money from the employees, who ran toward the back of the restaurant.

The suspect then jumped over the front counter and fired a gun indiscriminately, Gandhi said. One suspect ran from the scene, and two others left in a light-blue Honda vehicle.

There were no suspect descriptions immediately available.
