Police tape at crime scene

Two men were hospitalized Sunday night following a melee that broke out at a south Sacramento apartment complex involving at least 20 residents, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies and fire personnel responded to the 5500 block of Sky Parkway to reports of a stabbing at 7:59 p.m.

When they arrived, they found a “huge fight” among 20 to 40 residents in the apartment complex, said Sgt. Amar Gandhi, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office.

One man was stabbed in the face and a second victim suffered a head injury, he said. Both were hospitalized for treatment.

Two juveniles involved in the fight were detained, Gandhi said. Investigators are not yet sure what precipitated the brawl, he added.
