The body of a man was found Tuesday in the American River near Sutter’s Landing in midtown Sacramento.

The man appeared to be in his mid-20s or 30s, said Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Chris Harvey. Harvey said identifying the man will be difficult since the body was in the water for several days.

Sacramento police said that the circumstances surrounding the death of the person do not appear to be suspicious. No signs of trauma were evident.

The body was spotted around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near the 100 block of 28th Street.
