Sacramento high on list of U.S. cities affected by organized retail crime, report says

These are not your average shoplifters.

Retailers say they are losing tens of billions of dollars a year to organized retail crime, according to a video report from Straight Arrow News.

The ones stealing the merchandise are called boosters. Fences then buy the products off the boosters at a fraction of the retail cost. Then, the stuff is sold to consumers anywhere from swap meets to Amazon and e-Bay, according to the video report (above).

SAN reported Sacramento is No. 7 on the list of top cities in the U.S. affected by organized retail crime, tied with Chicago, according to the National Retail Federation. Los Angeles is No. 1.
