Update: Police say they have identified, but not located, a suspect in connection with the stabbing.

One man died Tuesday at a hospital after he was stabbed in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons shopping area, police said.

About 4:45 p.m., officers were called to the 400 block of K Street, just west of the Golden 1 Center arena, for the reported stabbing, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Sacramento Police Department spokesman.

The officers arrived at the scene and found a man suffering from at least one stab wound. Gamble later said the wounded man was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he died a short time later.

No arrests had been made, and the Police Department did not release any suspect description.
