Bicyclist in Natomas hit-and-run dies days after crash, Sacramento police say
A bicyclist has died two days after suffering a “substantial” head injury when a vehicle struck him in a Natomas neighborhood and fled the scene, according to the Sacramento Police Department.
The 50-year-old man was struck at Natomas Boulevard and North Bend Drive, according to archived radio dispatches. Officers responded shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday to the scene, which borders North Natomas Regional Park and a busy shopping complex.
Police found the victim in the road and he was taken to UC Davis Medical Center, according to radio dispatches.
The bicyclist died Saturday after succumbing to his injuries, police shared in a Sunday news release. The coroner’s office will release the victim’s name after notifying the family, the release stated. The case has been forwarded to the Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit.
