Rancho Cordova house party ends after stabbing kills man, Sacramento sheriff says

Police tape at crime scene

A large house party in Rancho Cordova ended early Monday morning with a man suffering at least one stab wound and being driven to a hospital where he later died, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies went to Viking Drive and Egmont Way after getting called to the scene about midnight. The victim told the Sheriff’s Office he was shot at the party, Sgt. Amar Gandhi has said. Deputies said in a Wednesday update that the victim was stabbed during a fight.

A witness drove the man to a hospital, the Sheriff’s Office said, where he died.

The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Dmauriye Yokley-Jackson, 20. Two teens — a boy, 14, and a girl, 16 — were arrested in connection with the homicide, Gandhi said in a January update.

The girl was arrested in Grass Valley and the boy was arrested in North Sacramento, deputies said. Gandhi didn’t disclose the ages of the suspects.

The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office is contracted to provide public safety services for the city of Rancho Cordova.

The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. No arrests have been made, and a motive behind the stabbing wasn’t disclosed Wednesday by the Sheriff’s Office.
