Sacramento law enforcement arrest man after 5-minute car chase, crash into house

A brief car chase early Thursday ended in a crash in the Village Green neighborhood of North Sacramento, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

The chase began at 2:13 a.m. when a blue compact car failed to yield for a traffic stop in the area of Kenwood and Pendleton streets in the Hagginwood section of the city, according to police dispatch radio.

During the chase, the blue car ran a red light and eventually crashed into a house on Village Circle five minutes later. The suspect, described as wearing a gray shirt, then jumped out of the car and hopped over a fence, fleeing the scene.

Officers from the Sacramento Police Department and deputies set up a perimeter and took the suspect into custody.

No injuries were reported and no further information was released.
