A man who apparently drowned Sunday at Tiscornia beach near the confluence of the American and Sacramento rivers has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
He is listed on the coroner’s website as 23-year-old Earlsiilian Turner.
Fire officials said Turner apparently drowned after entering the Sacramento River around 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
With two hot months of summer remaining, the Sacramento area is headed for an above-average year for river drownings. The region averages eight drowning deaths annually on its waterways.
