The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office arrested a teenager this week and who’s accused of robbing a woman at gunpoint in February, when they met up after communicating on an app used to sell items, deputies said.

On Feb. 17, the woman told sheriff’s deputies that she had met up with a 17-year-old Sacramento boy in Rosemont related to a transaction discussed on Offer Up. The app describes itself as the “simplest, most trusted way” to buy or sell goods.

Instead of completing the transaction, the woman said she was robbed at Kiefer Boulevard and South Port Drive, near a residential area and a Shell gas station, deputies said.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested the 17-year-old at his apartment after executing a search warrant Wednesday. Investigators said they found an assault rifle, two handguns, firearm accessories, ammunition, replica firearms and counterfeit money.

The teenager was booked into custody at the Sacramento County Youth Detention Facility.
