Cleanup continues, but traffic is moving after big-rig fire on Interstate 80
Traffic was moving again on westbound Interstate 80 as cleanup continued after a fire that burned a big rig on Sunday afternoon.
One westbound lane remained closed top accommodate cleanup efforts, and traffic was crawling. Eastbound lanes all are open with traffic moving normally.
The trailer of a big rig carrying meat westbound on I-80 just east of Colfax near Highway 174 caught fire shortly before 1 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported.
The blaze caused a significant traffic backup on all lanes of I-80.
No one was hurt in the blaze.
