2 suspects arrested after 2 are shot on Broadway in Land Park, Sacramento police say
Detectives on Thursday arrested two suspects in connection with a Wednesday afternoon shooting that wounded two others struck by gunfire on Broadway in Sacramento’s Land Park neighborhood, police said.
Officer Anthony Gamble, a spokesman for the Sacramento Police Department, said a woman and a man were hit by gunfire in the shooting. He said the woman was hospitalized with a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening, and the wounded man was listed in stable condition at a hospital.
On Thursday morning, police announced that detectives had arrested a suspect in Wednesday’s shooting on Broadway. Police said investigators worked into early Thursday to find the shooting suspect, and they found a loaded handgun in a vehicle and took another person into custody.
Gamble said a 19-year-old Sacramento man was arrested as a suspect in the shooting. The suspect remained in custody Thursday at the Sacramento County Jail. He was being held without bail and faces charges of attempted murder, assault on a person with a semiautomatic firearm and being a felon in possession of a firearm, jail records show.
The police spokesman said detectives also took a 25-year-old woman into custody. She remained in custody Wednesday at the jail and was being held without bail. She faces a felony charge of being an accessory in a crime after the fact, jail records show.
Both arrested suspects were scheduled to appear Friday afternoon for their arraignment in Sacramento Superior Court.
